Laptop work · 5-minute read

The laptop-only desk checklist: comfort without a bulky setup.

You do not need a room full of accessories to make laptop work more comfortable. Separate the screen, keyboard, and pointing device so each can sit where your body needs it.

Raise the screen

A stable laptop stand raises the display closer to eye height. The exact height matters less than avoiding a long, forward neck bend. Choose one that leaves enough room underneath for airflow and that does not wobble while typing.

Bring input devices down

Once the laptop is raised, an external keyboard and mouse are the natural next step. Compact versions preserve desk space, but avoid choosing something so small that it makes your hands feel cramped.

Keep one connection simple

A single USB-C hub can simplify a display, power, and accessories, but confirm that your laptop supports the desired video output and charging wattage. A hub should reduce friction, not introduce daily troubleshooting.

What to look for A stable ventilated stand, compact full-height keyboard, comfortable mouse, and a hub matched to your laptop’s ports.
